Description
Seven segment Display, Tri-Color 2.3 inch high digitCommon Anode
This display produces three colors: red, yellow, and green.
Voltage requirements 20ma, 8 VDC.
Pins 1 & 5 are the commons.
Pin 1 will display red segments
Pin 5 will display green segments.
Both pin 1 and 5 together will display yellow. This works best if you alternate driving pins 1 and 5 at least 120 times per second.
Voltage requirements 20ma, 8 VDC.
That means the TTL level coming directly from the Arduino will not light it.
However if you have another power source powering the Arduino that is higher
then you can use that source and power each segment with a transistor or open collector driver.
In other words, you need a transistor for each segment or a 7447 to drive it.
The Arduino, by itself, will not work.
